Join Jennifer Van Camp, Research Fellow & Director of R&D Analytics at AbbVie, to hear about the varied applications for data sciences in the pharmaceutical industry. Jennifer with share her journey in the field and how she helped establish a data science group at one of the world’s largest biopharmaceutical companies.
Bio:
Jennifer is a Director in Information Research, where she leads the data science team that supports AbbVie’s R&D efforts Her team specializes in data acquisition, warehousing and visualization powering AbbVie’s knowledge management and predictive analytics/AI capabilities. She received her PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Michigan in 1997 and has worked at G.D.Searle, Monsanto, Pharmacia, as well as Pfizer. She joined Abbott/AbbVie in November 2007 as a chemistry group leader in Advanced Technology. In 2012, she started the first data science organization to support drug discovery. Over the past 7 years, her team has grown to over 50 employees who span the globe and expanded in scope to incorporate capabilities to meet the data needs of AbbVie’s entire R&D organization.
