Bio: Dr. Jarai Carter is a Data Scientist at the John Deere Technology Innovation Center located in Research Park at the University of Illinois. She is a technical leader for their Data-Driven Innovation Team where she supervises undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of majors on data science projects. As a University of Illinois alumna, she received her bachelor’s degree in Crop Sciences and her doctoral degree in Informatics. She works at Columbia University remotely, teaching classes in their Applied Analytics master’s degree. She is also a volunteer researcher at San Diego State University, working with an international research group studying social media analytics in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
